My Favourite time of Year
Fall in Vancouver has to be one of my favourite times of the year. We have a true fall here with changing colours on the trees, crispness in the air and cool mornings with a warmth in the afternoon. I would love to take an afternoon one day and go around snapping pics of it all, but I can never seem to remember to. Maybe this weekend if it is nice...if I remember. It can be extremely muggy here if it rains and that just reminds me that we are lucky to live so close to the ocean and the mountains. Yes, the weather patterns can be very weird, but it's what makes this area so beautiful...

Jammie Sunday
I love rainy Sundays that I don't have to work. It means a sleep in, late breakfast and spending the day on the couch watching chick flicks with my BFF..it's one of our favourite days and we don't get to do it often so we enjoy it when we can. Today I managed to sleep till almost 11 and then got up and made us multi-grain waffles (I use the Trader Joe brand) and fresh berry syrup...so good! That and a cup of chai tea and I'm set for the morning. We have had this tradition since we first moved in together as roommates 4 years ago. Today we are starting with one of our fave movies...50 First Dates. Love this movie..you can't go wrong with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore!
Other than that, today will consist of more chick flicks..ending with the Backup Plan tonight. I may get myself dressed today at some point...I may not. But it won't consist of more than yoga pants and a comfy sweater..it's that gross out here. I'll make dinner later and then it's back to the movies...it's nice to be on holidays from work with no real plans...

Blog Virgin
I have to say this is harder than I thought. My older sister encouraged me to start a blog for something fun to do on the computer that isn't Facebook. I don't do Twitter, as I don't understand people's need to update every little thing they are doing..do I want to know that you just tripped on a curb or are going for a pee? Ummm, no I do not. I don't know where this blog will take me at this point but it could be interesting. I will most likely post recipes and such as I used to be a chef professionally and love to cook still for my friends and family. I lost a lot of the passion for it while doing it as a job but absolutely love it when there is no pressure.
I am a single woman living with my best friend in a condo in a suburb of Vancouver as it is ridiculously pricey to live in the city but I don't think I could ever leave the area..I am a true West Coast girl. I love the vibe of this city. We are laid back and relaxed here in Vancouver and can thoroughly enjoy the many things it has to offer. I work in healthcare and love my job, but ideally one day I would love to own my own cafe focusing on local ingredients.
I will try not to ramble on here about men and the many problems they bring to the life of a 30 something...they are what they are and take 'em or leave 'em they are here to stay and confuse us. And I'm sure they say the same about us. All in all, I have a great life with an amazing group of friends and a fabulously supportive family. I am beyond the club scene and don't like the whole party scene, but a night out at lounge or pub with the gang is always a good night. Well, that's about it for now...more ramblings to come soon...
